Say N’ Play Summer Day Camp
The Say N’ Play Summer Day Camp started in 1999 and is our most popular program. An intense speech- and language-based program, it’s taught by licensed speech-language pathologists (SLPs) and behavior interventionist support staff who assist the children who present behavior challenges.
Our innovative camp is organized thematically and includes weekly field trips to places like the Aquarium of the Pacific, Los Angeles Zoo and AdventurePlex. Some children receive individual or group pull-out speech therapy twice a week.
Over the years, this fun-filled camp has gained in popularity, drawing staff and families from around the country. Our staff to child ratio is 1:4 or 1:2, depending upon each child’s need, as determined by our team. College students from across the country make up our support staff and many return each year. We also include select high school volunteers whom we affectionately call “speech buddies.” These volunteers are the best and brightest from local private schools. They are not professional staff nor are they included in the staff to child ratio, making our actual ratio even richer.
Each afternoon, we offer electives, which the children love! These include: Senses Alive, Drama Kings and Queens, Busy Builders, Chess, Cooking, Sign Language, Tennis Anyone?, Picture Taking and Scrapbook Making, Clay Play, The Sound of Music and Get Hooked on a Book.
Session I: June 22-July 17, and Session II: July 20- August 14

Drama Kings & Queens Summer Day Camp
DKQ Camp is a 6-week summer program where students work on developing communication skills, social pragmatic skills, and acting abilities through creating an amazing musical performance, which culminates in a performance at a professional theatre at the end of camp. Each day campers are exposed to acting, dancing, singing, set creation and costume design. Weekly field trips correspond with camp themes. In prior years, field trips have included personal meet and greets and tours at CBS studios, UCLA School of Theatre, Universal Studios, and Los Angeles Orchestra Festival.
This camp is designed to develop and/or increase language abilities, social interaction skills, general awareness and self-confidence. While all students are considered, ideal campers have some established communication system, are able to follow instruction and have minimal maladaptive behaviors.
2020 DKQ camp is June 22- July 31. Please be advised, all campers must be available to participate in the final performance.
Space is limited and considerations will be made on a first come first serve basis. Please contact Ashley or Angela at 310-649-6199 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
