Pre-social skills targets key, early social engagement goals including: joint attention, coordinated eye gaze, person engagement, responding to simple WH- questions about visual stimuli, and verbally expressing wants and needs. These goals are targeted via small group, language enriching play contexts. Additionally, parents are coached 1:1 on methods of increasing joint attention and engagement to promote generalization of their goals both at home and in the community. Children in this group begin with at least 5 spontaneous single words and might demonstrate some mild maladaptive behaviors in response to periods of frustration (although no aggressive behaviors). Schedule a free screening today and we look forward to working with you and your child!
