Q. Do you offer services on Saturdays?
A. Yes, currently we provide services on three Saturdays per month.
Q. What happens if I don’t keep my scheduled appointment?
A. If at all possible, we ask for 24-hour cancellation notice. If your child misses two appointments without prior notification, he/she may lose their designated appointment slot.
Q. If my child is ill or has a valid excuse for missing his appointment, can we schedule a make-up session?
A. Absolutely, as long as your therapist has availability in her schedule. Los Angeles Unified School District does not allow for make ups in the case of illness or absence.
Q. Will my child’s speech pathologist accompany us to the next IEP meeting?
A. Yes, your speech pathologist may accompany you if her schedule permits for an additional hourly fee, which will include travel time. Please make arrangements at least 2-3 weeks in advance with the Program Coordinator for Speech Services.
Q. What if I move and need to change therapists?
A. Please notify our office in writing within 5 days of any change of address or telephone number. We can forward any closing reports to your child’s new therapist.
Q. May I run errands while my child is in therapy?
A. We ask that you remain in the office or the waiting room with your child during the entire therapy session. Our therapists need to complete their time with you and prepare for the next client. Also, the children become very anxious when their session is over and mommy and daddy are not present.
Q. What happens if for whatever reason my therapist leaves?
A. You will be assigned another qualified SLP within our agency if you so desire. While we do not anticipate changes nor do we want to lose you as a client, changes are inevitable. We try and plan accordingly so that your child’s services may continue without interruption.
Q. Can I pay privately for services for my child?
A. Absolutely.
